Do I need an account to use Talkify?

You can browse available rooms and use the self-practice tools without signing in. You need to log in with Google when you want to create a room or request to join one.

Why does the room host need to approve me?

Each room is managed by the person who created it. Host approval helps keep conversations safe, relevant, and free from unwanted participants or spam.

What happens if the host leaves the room?

The room closes when its host leaves. This prevents ownerless and unmoderated rooms from remaining open. Anyone can create a new room when they want to start another conversation.

Is my voice recorded or stored?

Talkify does not record or store voice conversations. Talkify uses an SFU (Selective Forwarding Unit) to route live audio between participants in a room. The SFU forwards audio in real time for the conversation, but the audio is not saved as a recording.

How does Talkify use SFU voice technology?

In an SFU-based room, your browser sends live audio to a media server, and the SFU forwards the appropriate audio stream to other approved participants. This is designed to make group voice conversations more efficient than requiring every browser to connect directly to every other participant.

What information does Talkify receive when I use Google login?

Talkify uses the basic account information provided by Google, such as your name, email address, and profile picture, to identify you in rooms. Talkify does not need your Google password. See the Privacy Policy for complete details.

Which languages are supported?

Talkify currently supports English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, Turkish, Urdu, and Hindi.

Can a participant be removed from a room?

Yes. The room host can remove a participant when necessary to keep the conversation safe and comfortable for everyone.
