Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 31, 2026

1. Information We Collect

When you sign in with Google, Talkify receives basic profile information such as your name, email address, and profile picture. Talkify does not receive or store your Google password. We also collect information needed to operate the service, such as rooms you create or join and the times you join or leave them.

2. Voice Data and SFU Media Routing

Talkify voice rooms use a Selective Forwarding Unit (SFU) architecture. During a live conversation, your browser sends audio to the SFU, and the SFU forwards the relevant audio streams to approved participants in the room. This means live audio is routed through the real-time media infrastructure; it is not a peer-to-peer-only connection.

Talkify does not record or store voice conversations. The SFU is used to route audio in real time, not to create audio recordings. If our media-processing or retention practices change, we will update this policy before the change takes effect.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and secure Talkify, identify participants in rooms, help hosts manage room access, maintain room functionality, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service. We may also use basic service activity information to diagnose technical problems and improve reliability.

4. Data Sharing and Service Providers

We do not sell your personal information or share it with third parties for their own advertising purposes. Your name and profile picture may be visible to participants in rooms you join because they help people identify one another during a conversation.

We may use trusted infrastructure and service providers for functions such as Google authentication, hosting, databases, security, and real-time media routing. These providers may process information only as needed to provide or secure those services.

5. Data Retention and Account Deletion

We retain account information for as long as your Talkify account remains active or for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Talkify does not retain voice recordings because live room audio is not recorded or stored.

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting us through our Contact page. Some information may be retained where required for security, legal, or fraud-prevention purposes.

6. Cookies and Local Storage

Talkify uses essential browser storage or cookies to keep you signed in securely, maintain session state, and provide core room functionality. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies unless this policy is updated to describe them.

7. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, portability of, or deletion of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a privacy request, contact us through our Contact page. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our service, data practices, or legal obligations change. We will update the “Last updated” date when changes are posted. Your continued use of Talkify after an updated policy is published means you acknowledge the revised policy.
